This Privacy Policy explains how Vododex (“Vododex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at www.vododex.comand our mobile applications (together, the “Service”). Vododex is a free trading-card collection tracker and price-guide reference; we are an information service and do not sell trading cards.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash). You may also verify your email address and reset your password.
  • Collection data. The sets, cards, variants, and quantities you choose to track, so we can show your collection and its estimated value.
  • Communications. Any messages you send us for support.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies.Used for authentication, preferences, analytics, and advertising (see “Cookies” below).
  • Camera (card scanner). On our mobile app, the card-scanner feature uses your device camera to identify cards. Images are processed for recognition and are not stored by us for that purpose beyond what is needed to return a result, unless you choose to save them to your collection.
  • Mobile identifiers. On mobile, advertising and analytics providers may access device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier). On iOS we request your permission before enabling app-tracking for advertising.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your collection features.
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Send transactional emails (verification, password reset) and, if you opt in, a daily collection digest.
  • Measure usage and performance through analytics.
  • Display and measure advertising.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our third-party partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, and serve advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality such as staying logged in.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Google Firebase to understand how visitors use the Service. These tools collect usage and device information as described above. You can learn more and opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense on the web and Google AdMob in our mobile apps to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized advertising in your Google Ad Center and opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. Push Notifications

Our mobile apps may send push notifications through OneSignal if you grant permission. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Data

Some links on the Service are affiliate or partner links (for example, through the Impact partner network and marketplaces such as TCGPlayer and eBay). If you click these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Card and market-price information is sourced from third-party datasets and providers and is provided for reference only.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, advertising, email delivery, and push notifications) under agreements that limit their use of the data.
  • To comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Vododex and its users.
  • In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete your account, after which we will delete or anonymize your personal information except where retention is required by law.

Deleting Your Account

You can request permanent deletion of your account and its associated data at any time from Account Settings on the web, or from the Settings screen in our mobile app. When you submit a request, we deactivate your access and place the request in a queue that our team reviews and processes.

Once processed, your account is permanently deleted after a short grace period, along with the data associated with it — including your tracked collections, price alerts, and notifications. We may retain a limited record of the deletion request itself, and any information we are required to keep to comply with legal obligations. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and encrypting data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California (among others) may have specific rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA. International Users

We operate the Service from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
